Need A Shower?

I do.

I only shave my legs every other day. I know, that's probably TMI, but you must know that for this story to be funny. Anyway, I was wearing shorts this morning with my legs curled up on the chair and, mind you, today would be a 'shave' day--got it?

Continuing on, Rusten came up to me to ask me a question and his hand touched my leg. He immediately got a look of disgust on his face, and said "MOMMY! You need a shower, you are icky!"

Shame on me.

Do You Think Since Octomom Doesn't Need Them, She'll Send the Nannies My Way?

Because I do! Apparently, I need lessons from the infamous multiples mother because she can fire nannies and do it solo with 14 while balancing her limelight career. I can't control two....take a look!

As I was blogging for the Bible Club, apparently my children took out their frustrations on my couch pillows:

And as I was cleaning that up, they decided to clean out their dresser and redecorate their closet:

Nadia, please honey, I need help from you, a classy professional!

As Promised..

Some of these pics go all the way back to around my birthday! Yikes! So, let me re-introduce you to my family!

Some of these are from the past few Saturdays at home or the park. Some are from my birthday, and some are just random!

Enjoy!

You Have No Idea...

...how much time it takes to do the Bible Reading Club! Wow! I want to keep up with this blog also, but it's kind of taking a back seat right now. I do, however, have some great pics of the boys that I'll put up hopefully later today or tomorrow. We went to the park this past weekend and barbecued with friends and family. It was mostly a lot of fun (outside of wrangling a one-year-old) and it provided many photo ops!

Just wanted to check in, though, and let you know that we are alive and kicking and the boys are getting cuter and cuter!

A Glitch

I just heard from the hallway...

"Mom, my cape not working. My cape not flying."

Bummer. At least he learned of that prior to take off, and not mid-air.

I'm Tired

Um, maybe that's because it's one in the morning? Hm...

I like to sometimes stay up real late and get caught up on work with NO DISTRACTIONS named Rusten and Reed. It's nice to just focus in the quiet and it's amazing how much work I can crank out!

Today, Rusten announced that he is in fact Larryboy. Along with that, he made sure that Rich knew that he was Larryboy's daddy! He's so funny! They made capes in Sunday School that say "God's Our Hero" and he loves to wear it and watch Larryboy episodes while walking around saying "I AM THAT HERO!" We went for a walk tonight after dinner and he walked in shorts, tennis shoes with no socks, his shirt and his cape. It was so cute!

I love having toddlers....even though they make me tired and crazy. Mostly tired. Lots of crazy though.

Off to bed....*yawn*

Wake Up With Me

Yesterday before I was out of bed, I could hear this in the monitor:

Reed: DAEEE, DAEEE, AAHHH, AAHHH

Rusten: Stop it brother!

Reed: AAHHH

Rusten: NO! STOP!

Reed: AAHHH

Rusten: That's it.

I hear rustling, as though he were getting out of bed...followed by an unidentified noise.

Reed: *Crying*

Just Some Stuff...

This weekend was a big milestone for Rusten. He went home with a friend after church yesterday! I know, a knife twisted in my heart. My baby is growing up! I was trying to hold him before he left, and he said "Don't hold me like a baby mom, I want to walk." Oh, I died inside.
Then last night, he said "Mom, I need to tell you about something..." He's just growing up right in front of me!
Reed is getting ornerier by the day. He will blink his eyes at you if you make him mad, or shrug his shoulders. And don't think he'll forget about it and love on you in a minute. Nope, not my little grudge holder. I really thought he was going to be my sweet little angel, but I'm rethinking that one. He cracks us up though--we just have a few things to work on.
So today starts our Bible Reading Club. I'm SO STINKING excited about this. You can check out our blog: www.biblereadingclubblog.blogspot.com. It's so neat to see all the kids excited about it. Feel free to follow Rich and I over there and get our daily posts on the Bible reading for the day. We even have a few adults that are going to join us--even more exciting! The more the merrier!
Well, I need to get a few things done around here today. I'm off from the legal work this week and I need to play catch up on some other things. First thing, I must go get Reed out of my bathroom drawers....

Katie Needs

Okay, I wasn't going to do this post, though I've seen it several places. But after my cousin did it, I tried it and it made me laugh. Therefore, I had to share.

4. To figure out if she wants to move forward

5. To realize what she's gotten herself into

6. You

7. To use the litter pan on her own

8. Our help, Celebrities

9. Parenting classes

10. A blog

So....what do you need? Find out and let me know, I'll see what I can do!

It's Friday--What?

I can't believe it's Friday already! It seems like yesterday it was time to leave for Vegas. This has actually been a pretty mellow week, not too many evening activities. It's been a nice reprieve.

I'm so tired! Rusten decided that 5:15 a.m. was a good wake-up time today. When we tried to put him back to bed, he was noisy and woke up brother. Rich had a meeting at 6, so he was gone, and it was just them and me--grouchy me. Now I just feel like being in a grouchy mood. I've gotta work through that one--you know, put my big girl pants on, and keep on going. I'm sure after my coffee and quiet time, I'll be a much better person to be around.

I'm excited because my boss (the attorney) is going skiing for a week, and that means I get a week off! Yeah! I'll have time to actually clean my house and play with my kids. I'm excited. He leaves today, so beginning today, I get to relax a little. God's really been blessing me this last week with the ability to catch up on things. It's been awesome getting all of those nagging projects done--you know the ones that you keep putting off and they scream at you from your inbox and you act like you don't see them. Yeah, they're almost all done! I hate to write it and jinx myself, but life seems to be settling in to a groove right now. I've almost got a good handle on things and it feels good.

Wow, I'm cheering myself up!!

I'm excited because this week, I'm challenging our youth to join our new Bible Reading Club (if you're reading, Rachel, thanks for listening to God and creating this awesome idea--I'm stealing it). I'm challenging them to read through the Bible in one year. I've bought Bibles for them which break it into daily readings which are very manageable. Then they will have to journal each day something that God spoke to them through the reading. We're just going to pick up right now, and for the overachievers that want to catch up from the beginning of the year, they'll get a little something extra special. I plan to (just like you guys, Rachel) throw a huge party at the end of the year for those kids that complete the task. I'm also going to open it up to the church body. My goal is to start a blog (maybe on mychurch) and make an entry everyday based on the reading for the day. I know you're laughing right now because you know how horrible I am at that. Maybe it won't be EVERY day. We'll see. Today I need to work on getting their journals together and ready.

Sorry that this was a very long, boring post. I'm just writing what I'm thinking...that can be scary. Now, where's my coffee....

More Rustenisms

In the past when I lay Rusten down for his nap, I'll see him look up at the window and say "Oh, there are my butterflies". I've always tried to figure this out. I've even crawled in bed next to him to look up into the window and figure it out. No luck.
Well today, I saw the butterflies. We walked into the kitchen in the late afternoon to clean up in there and get ready for dinner and the sun was shining through a high window directly into the kitchen. Rusten was so excited when we walked in and yelled "BUTTERFLIES". I turned around and saw him grabbing at all the little particles that are visible in the direct sunlight. It was so cute. His face lit up and he spent the next 15 minutes or so trying to catch the butterflies. I even got in trouble for walking through the butterflies--oops.
We are really seeing a HUGE increase in Rusten's vocabulary. He says the funniest things now, and I really need to get them all on here! Tonight at dinner, Rich was trying to get Rusten to guess who was coming over in a bit. Rusten couldn't figure it out, but Rich was insisting that he guess. Here's how it went down (the abbreviated version):
Rich: Guess who's coming to see us?
Rusten: Uncle Faniel?
Rich: No
Rusten: Uncle Faniel, Mimi, Papa?
Rich: No
Rusten: I don't know, who?
Rich: You have to guess.
Rusten: I don't know, who daddy?
Rich: Guess.
Rusten: Answer my question.
We busted a gut laughing. Where did he learn to talk like that?? He said he learned that from Daddy--who knows. It was so funny and so matter-of-fact. Kids are hilarious at his age, but also trying. He and I have many battles of the will during the day.
I love you, Rusten!

The Verdict Is In

It's Bronchealitis (or something to that effect--right before pneumonia).
Yes, we're sick again.
We returned home to a sick Reed. He had a fever and congestion like no other. I've started him on his inhalers again, but with the fever and the way he's acting, we decided a trip to the doctor was in order.
At the doctor, we learned that some kids are more prone to wheezing and bronchial infections. Luckily, Reed is one of them. Ugh. She won't diagnose him with asthma until he is older because of the fact that some kids react this way to infections. They had me give him a nebulizer treatment which was miserable for both of us. Reed H.A.T.E.D it, and because of that, I wasn't loving it much either. He screamed for the entire 10 or so minutes and fought me. I wanted to pop that mask on and hook it up to something stronger for myself once the ordeal was over! Seriously...not really.
He sounded much better after that treatment and we shall continue with our inhalers. We also have an antibiotic which I need to get filled--at Walmart so it's only $4!! It's been forever since I've been to Walmart--just thought of that and I'm smiling!
Rusten is still well and is a booger because he's been around grandparents all weekend. He thinks he can just whine or whatever to get what he wants. Um...no...momma don't work like that. I remember my mom saying it would take her a long time to deprogram me after I stayed with grandparents and now I see what she's talking about--times 2!
Well, I must go clean something, anything would be nice, and make dinner.

Our Anniversary

SIX YEARS!

Wow! Doesn't seem like that long, yet I can't really remember life without Rich. He's the best husband and spiritual leader I could have asked for. He's an amazing father. I am so blessed by him being in my life. He's my best friend and drives me to be the best person I can be.

This weekend, we went to Las Vegas to celebrate our anniversary. It was a lot of fun. The boys stayed back with grandparents, and we went alone. I totally didn't take any pictures, but I found a few on the internet to show you...

We got in late Friday night to our hotel.

We checked in and headed over to New York New York for a LATE dinner at--

It was delish.

We went to bed and then S-L-E-P-T-I-N. I'm not sure if you've ever tried that before, it was a bit foreign to us, but something definitely to keep in mind.

We ate a buffet breakfast here--

We went shopping at the Meadows Mall and here--

and ate dinner here--

Then we went to see KA. It's one of the Cirque Du Soliel shows in Vegas. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. The stages were hydraulic, the acrobatics were phenomenal, but the story line was a bit tough to follow. Still a great show--

We again went to bed late, and again slept in.

We went to church here--

[Can't load picture...grr] We went to South Hills Church in Henderson--good church!

Then we went shopping here and ate some lunch--

Then we came home to see our munchkins. It was a blast!
